Enhancements to Pricing Results - Group Products by Program*

Overview

Release 6.1.1000 provides the ability to group loan products by program on the "Pricing Results" page, instead of grouping products by amortization type and term. This article provides instructions to configure the grouping functionality and to manage the product groupings in the product list.

Configurations

To group products by program, the new configuration called "Product Configuration - Use Product Groups - Pricing" must be set to "True." This configuration is located in iMP System Admin under Environment Configurations.

When this configuration is enabled, loan products on the "Pricing Results" page will no longer be organized by amortization type and loan term, and instead will be organized by loan program. 

Note: this new configuration is separate from the previously existing configuration called "Product Configuration - Use Product Groups." In order to avoid confusion, the existing configuration has been renamed to "Product Configuration - Use Product Groups - Disclosures"

Manage Product Groupings - Admin Menu

In order to see loan products grouped together by program on the "Pricing Results" page, each product in the client's product list must be assigned a program type. Admin users can manage these groupings in the Product List within TPO. This list has been updated to display the product type groupings and to allow users to assign or edit the associated type for each product. 

The Product List can be accessed from the Admin Menu:

To define the group for a particular product in the list, hover over the product and select the blue pencil icon

In the Product Setup window, use the Product Group - Pricing field to select the group type the product should be assigned to.

The options that appear in this menu will vary by client. The client should work with the implementation team to provide the appropriate product groupings.

When you have selected the correct group, click Save.

Once a product group has been selected, it will appear in a new column titled 'Product Group - Pricing'

When adding new products by importing a file, the csv file should include a column called 'Product Group - Pricing,' which can also be used to set the product groups in bulk. If you choose to set the product groups this way, the product groups entered must match an available product group type, otherwise you will receive an error on import. 

Note: the "Product Configuration - Use Product Groups - Pricing" configuration must be set to 'True' to be able to define the product group and view the pricing group column in this table.

Pricing Results

When the system and products have been configured properly as described above, the loan products on the "Pricing Results" page will appear under headings that correspond to the pricing groups that have been set up.

Acceptance Criteria

Use Case #1: System Admin - Configuration
 
Prerequisites: 
  • Test user has Admin credentials

Testing Process:

  1. Log in to iMP System
  2. Navigate: Configuration > Configuration - Environment 
  3. VERIFY: "Product Configuration - Use Product Groups - Pricing" appears in the list of available configurations
  4. Hover over the "Product Configuration - Use Product Groups - Pricing" configuration
  5. VERIFY: the following tool tip message appears: 
    • "This is used for the Product Grouping on the Pricing Results screen. Setting to "True" will show the "Product Group - Pricing" field in the investor matrix. Setting to "False" will hide the "Product Group - Pricing" field in the investor matrix."
  6. Find the "Product Configuration - Use Product Groups - Disclosures" configuration and hover over it
  7. VERIFY: the following tool tip message appears: 
    • "This is used for Business Rules for Compliance Check. Setting to "True" will show the "Product Group - Disclosures" field in the investor matrix. Setting to "False" will hide the "Product Group - Disclosures" field in the investor matrix.""
 
Use Case #2: Admin - Product List 
 
Prerequisites:
  • Test user has Admin credentials
  • "Product Configuration - Use Product Groups - Pricing" configuration is set to True
  • "Product Configuration - Use Product Groups - Disclosures" configuration is set to True

Testing Process:

  1. Log in to oPOS/TPO
  2. Navigate: Admin > Product List
  3. Click on the pencil icon on one of the listed products to open the "Product Setup" flyout
  4. VERIFY: the "Product Group - Pricing" field is displayed in the "Product Setup" flyout, on the "Product Info" tab, within the "Product Detail" section
  5. VERIFY: the default value is set to "Select One"
  6. Close out of the "Product Setup" flyout
  7. VERIFY: the "Product Group - Pricing" column header is displayed to the right of "Product Group - Disclosures" 
  8. VERIFY: the "Product Group - Pricing" column is blank/empty for each row
  9. VERIFY: the "Product Group - Disclosures" column header is displayed to the right of "Product Name" 
  10. Sign out and log in to iMP System Admin and set both of the prerequisite configurations to 'False'
  11. Return to the Product List
  12. VERIFY: "Product Group - Pricing" column no longer appears in the table
  13. Select the blue pencil icon next to one of the listed products
  14. VERIFY: field titled "Product Group - Pricing" no longer appears in the flyout window

 

Use Case #3: Import

Prerequisites:

  • Test user has Admin credentials
  • test csv file with details for test products

Testing Process:

  1. Open the Product List: Admin > Product List
  2. Select Import
  3. Select the test csv file and import it into the product list
  4. VERIFY: products are imported successfully
  5. Update the test file to leave the 'Product Group - Pricing' entry blank for one product and 'test product' for another
  6. Attempt to import this updated csv file
  7. VERIFY: error message appears

 

Use Case #4: Product Grouping on Pricing Results 

 

Prerequisites:

  • "Product Configuration - Use Product Groups - Pricing" configuration is set to True
  • test products with defined product groups have been set up in the Product List

Testing Process:

  1. Log in to oPOS/TPO
  2. Start a New Price Quote
  3. Complete the required fields
  4. Click the "Shop for Rates" button
  5. User is navigated to the Pricing Results screen
  6. VERIFY: the groupings on the Pricing Results screen have the correct values based on the products configured in the prerequisites
  7. VERIFY: the grouping section headers are displayed in alphabetical order
  8. VERIFY: the products listed under each grouping match the grouping assignments configured in the prerequisites.
  9. VERIFY: products within each grouping are sorted by rate and price
